Cedar Planked Tilapia with Chili and Lime
Tilapia is great for many reasons – it’s affordable, easily available, versatile, and cooks really fast. Since it is a delicate fish, it really benefits from the gentle nature of plank cooking.

INGREDIENTS
- 2 Cedar Grilling Planks
- 4 Tilapia filets
- 2 oz. Butter, softened
- 1 Tbsp. Jalapeno, diced
- 1 Lime, juice and zest
- Pinch of salt
CHEF'S TIP
This recipe could make for some fantastic tacos!
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat a grill to 400°F and soak the planks in hot water for at least 15 minutes.
- Combine the butter, jalapeño, and lime. Mix well.
- Season the fish with salt and set on the planks, place on the grill and cook for 10 minutes or until cooked.
- When the fish is ready spoon some butter on each filet while they are still hot.
*Keep a spray bottle of water handy in case of flare-ups.
